What is hosted and non hosted adsense account

In my previous article I wrote about Adsense and how to approve adsense for website. After getting approve if you login to your adsense account then you can see a term 'Non hosted' on upper right side. Today I am going to discuss about 'Hosted and 'Non Hosted' adsense account. Let's start.

What is 'Hosted' and 'Non hosted' adsense account?

There are commonly two types of Google Adsense , they are Hosted Adsense account and the non-hosted Adsense account.

1. Hosted Adsense Account

The hosted Adsense account allows publishers to serve Google ads on only Google hosted domains or Google partner platforms like on blogspot blog, YouTube etc. You can not use it on sites which are not hosted by Google. like .com, .net etc. The main advantage of this account is that its approval is very easy. You can easily approve a hosted AdSense account from Google hosted sites like Blogspot, You tube etc.

2. Non Hosted Adsense Account

This account can be used any site. It's very difficult to approve a non-hosted or publisher account but once if your account got approved it cannot be easily blocked. It's fully approved account so you didn't need to reapply for any other service. You can apply for a Non hosted AdSense account through google Adsense page and by submitting the domain on which you want to show ads on.
Once you get approve then you can use it on any Website. It doesn't matter whether the site is hosted by Google or not.

** If you have a hosted adsense account and you want to show ads to non hosted account then you have to upgrade your account by submitting an upgrade request with the custom domain you will want to use the non-hosted account on. If it get approve, you can place your Google ads on your custom domain.
