Adsense earning depends on several factors like traffic, CPC, CTR, RMP, impression. Let's first know what are they and how they work.
CPC:
The cost-per-click (CPC) is the amount you earn each time a user clicks on your ads. 
CTR:
CTR means click through rate. It is calculated by total number of ads click by total no of page views. Simply Page CTR = Clicks / Page views.
Ex- if you received 2 clicks for 500 page views, your page CTR would be .4%. (2/500=.4%)
RPM:
RPM means revenue per thousand impressions. Page RPM = (Estimated earnings / Number of page views) * 1000.

Impression:

An impression is counted for each ads request that returns at least one ad to the site. It is the number of ad units (for content ads) or search queries (for search ads) that showed ads.
CPC rates by country:
Country play a vital role for adsense earnings. If you get visitor and ads click from USA, UK, CANADA, GERMANY then simply you will get maximum CPC rate. But if you get visitor from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India then you will get much lower CPC rate.

How to maximize google adsense earnings

1. Website Design/ Ads placement: 

If you want to monetize your blog with only adsense then you have to focus on website design first. You may use Adsense optimized template or see the heatmap below to place ads for better performance. Darker orange color represents the hot spots of the ads slots.

2. Ads unit size:

Ads size also a big matter for impression. Best adsense ads sizes are

• 336 * 280 : Large Rectangle
• 300*250 : Square 
• 728*90 : Leaderboard
• 160*600 : wide skyscraper

3. Traffic:

The main part of adsense is traffic. If you get organic traffic and from USA/UK then generally your adsense revenue will be maximum. 

4. Ads between posts:

You can place adsense ads in between posts to increase revenue but don't put a lot of ads to keep your reader's experience good.

5. Place Ads after first paragraph:

One of the most important thing is Keywords. Use google keyword planner to see on which Keywords the advertiser bid the max price. Use that keyword in your posts, pages.
