Blogspot advance setup for better SEO

I have already written "How to create a blogspot website free". Its really simple and fun. But after successfully creating your first website you have to do some more extra setup to make it more professional. Let's start.

 CHANGE BLOGGER TEMPLATE

When you create your first website its come with a basic blogger template that's not looking professional. So you should change the template as you like. To change the blogger template click on Template -> Backup/Restore -> Choose File. Then select the .xml file that you have already downloaded (abc.xml). Now click on upload.

If you are facing problem to find a suitable blogger template then you can download it from here gooyaabitemplates.Here you can find a lot of free blogger templates. Simply download and install any of them. *Choose a simple, fast loading, seo optimize template ( Simplify 2 template) .

CHANGE PERMALINK STRUCTURE 

Blogger automatic set the permalink as post title by default. So sometimes it may be longer. You may change it what you want. To change the permalink click on Permalink from the left sidebar and choose custom permalink then write your own and done.

ADD LOGO AND FAVICON 

Every website has its own logo and favicon. Its also a unique identity of a website. You should create you own logo and favicon in photoshop or others photo editor then set it. To setup logo goto 

Layout -> Header -> Edit -> Choose file and select your logo -> Tick shrink to fit -> Save .
You can also make it from online logo maker. (freelogodesign.org)

To edit favicon go to Layout -> Edit Favicon -> Select your file -> Save

SET A CUSTOM DOMAIN 

Blogger set domain with blogspot.com sub domain that's not looking so good. If you want to change it then you have to buy a TLD domain (.com .net .info). You can buy it from GoDaddy which is most trusted and cheap domain provider.

Now to set it go to Setting -> Basic -> Set a 3rd party url for your blog -> Now write your doamin name with www. -> Save it.

After clicking on save you will see a message 'We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 13". Now you have to point the CNAME on your domain. Log in to your domain account and edit DNS with the following CNAME. Now wait 2-3 minutes and back to blogger and click on save.

CUSTOMIZE TEMPLATE 

To customized your template go to Template-> Customize. If you have some basic knowledge about html, css, javascript you may edit template through edit html. But make sure to backup your original template too. Template-> Backup/Restore -> Download template .

BACKUP FULL BLOG 

To backup full content go to setting-> other-> backup content and save to your computer.

MONETIZE

Once you have some few posts and you can go to “Settings” > “Earnings” and enable AdSense for your blog. This will allow you to earn money from your free BlogSpot blog.
