How To Choose A Perfect Domain Name

In previous article I told that Domain is a unique identity of your website. So choosing a domain name is almost similar to choosing a company name. Here I am going to tell you some important point about 'how to choose a perfect domain name for your website or blog'. Let's start,

MAKE IT EASY

Find a domain name that is easy to read, write and remember (facebook.com) because visitors will want to type the domain name in the web browser for revisits and if they can’t remember the domain name then you may lose potential traffic.                 

KEEP IT SHORT 

Don't make domain name long and complex. Make it short and less than 10 characters.

USE KEYWORDS 

Use keywords in the domain name that describe your site. A good domain name describes exactly what the site is about. What is your website topic? Choose a domain name as your blog topic. Suppose you are making a website about "fashion" then your website maybe "fashionblog.com/fashiontoday.com". It's also better to use the keyword (fashion) at the beginning.

DON'T USE HYPHEN OR NUMBER

Numbers and hyphens are often misunderstood. People who hear your website address don’t know if you’re using a numeral (5) or it’s spelled out (five) or they misplace or forget the dash. If you need these in your domain, register the different variations to be safe. 

If your desire domain is already taken and you want to use it then  Use 1 hyphen (-) in between two words. (my-domain.com).

TARGET AREA     

If your business is local, consider including your city in your domain name to make it easy for local customers to find and remember. (Fashionlondon.com) 

DOMAIN NAME EXTENSION

Most internet user search a domain name with .com extension. So try to get a domain with '.com' extension.You can also use the '.net' and '.org' extensions if you face problem to get a '.com' extension.

USING YOURNAME.COM OR BUSINESSNAME.COM

If you are an author, speaker, coach etc. then you can use 'yourname.com'.

If you have business of products or a service then use your 'businessname.com (amazon.com)

AVOID COPYWRITE

Make sure the name you are going to use is not copyrighted.

ICANN REGISTER

Try to make sure to buy your domain name from a register who is in the ICANN’s (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) accredited register’s list.

BEST DOMAIN PROVIDER
